Current Status

As the holidays approach, we ask everyone to do their part to help our community stay safe during these difficult times. We are grateful for all you have done to keep our school safe. The below letters communicate some of our thoughts. We look forward to seeing the students again after the Christmas break.

The School Staff and Board of Directors have prepared a comprehensive plan for the 2020-2021 school year. If you have questions about the plan please email office@pistem.org.

On Tuesday Oct 13th, the board modified the plan based on new guidance from CDH. The new plan is listed below.

Central District Health Level of Community Spread

Central District Health is publishing a weekly level of community spread for schools. The page will be updated every Monday. A link to the page is below.
CDH Schools Page

Current Timeline:

  • June 2020: Meet with local health and SDE officials to determine necessary planning. Dr. Hettinger and other school administration continue to meet and monitor official information.
  • July 2020: Survey sent to school community. Meet with Pi STEM patrons to gather input and develop COVID plan outline. Dr. Hettinger will work with the staff to create procedures within the developed outline.
  • Late July-Early August: Share full draft of the plan with school community and the Board of Directors.
  • August 2020: Board approves a Pi STEM COVID Re-Opening Plan.
