ADMISSIONS PROCESS

Project Impact STEM Academy (Pi STEM) will be open to all students, on a space available basis within each grade level as established by the Board. The school will not discriminate based on race, creed, color, gender, national origin, or ancestry.  Any special needs of students are not a factor in admission decisions.  The school will not charge tuition for students residing in the state of Idaho, levy taxes, or issue bonds. The Board may choose to charge student fees as allowed by state law.

The process by which students are admitted to Pi STEM will comply with Idaho Code and all other applicable laws and regulations. The following is a brief overview of the process.

Request for Admission

A parent, guardian, or other person with legal authority to make decisions regarding school attendance on behalf of a child in Idaho must submit an "Enrollment Application" for said child to attend Pi STEM. Applications may be mailed or completed by the online form.

Enrollment Deadline

Students are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis after the open enrollment period. Applicants are encouraged to use the online form which will generate an email confirmation of receipt of the Enrollment Application. Once available openings are filled, applicants will be added to a waiting list.

Admissions Procedure

The lottery will be held at 4:00 pm on April 3, 2024 at Project Impact STEM Academy ( 1422 Tech Lane, Meridian, ID). Attendance is not required. Drawings will be held for each available grade.
The Idaho Legislature established the lottery process for charter school admission in Idaho Code Statute 33-5206. Please review this state statute for details regarding the lottery process.
As a brief overview, all applicants are placed into grade-level-specific "Lottery Priority Groups" as follows:
  • First Priority: Pupils returning to Pi STEM.
  • Second Priority: Applicants that are children of eligible founders and staff. (Max 10% of population)
  • Third Priority: Applicants that are siblings of pupils already selected by the lottery.
  • Fourth Priority: Applicants that reside within Pi STEM’s primary area of attendance.
  • Fifth Priority: Applicants that reside outside Pi STEM’s primary area of attendance.
Applicants will be notified after the lottery. The notification process will be posted prior to the lottery.

In order to be in the lottery, enrollment applications must be received by the due date found on the lottery enrollment page. Application received after this time will be placed at the bottom of the waiting list in the appropriate grade level.
